Bilton Grange wins eco-schools School Grounds Topic Award

Gareth Jones, Head is proud to announce that Bilton Grange have won the School Grounds Topic Award award from the organisation Keep Britain Tidy in their annual Eco-Schools Awards programme.

Keep Britain Tidy was blown away by the schools epic efforts and had the following things to say about their work:

Bilton Grange’s Eco-Committee completed several fantastic projects to support wildlife and enhance learning in their school. Large areas of school grounds were designated for re-wilding, woodlands have been linked through tree planting, and a 1500m2 wildflower meadow created to provide sanctuary for nature. To encourage pupils to connect with nature, they also helped organise an environmental week of learning, created a new outdoor classroom and installed many other education and nature enriching facilities. Their site has been transformed!

Bilton Grange will now feature in their annual Impact Report which sits proudly on their website and is distributed to around 20,000 educators and lots of friends and partner organisations around the world.

This is fantastic news and testament to the hard work of Mrs Staddon-Davis, Mr Gedye, Paul Thornton, Mick Turner and the Grounds team and the pupil Eco Committee.

Well done everyone.
