Our mission is to offer fully funded places through the Arnold Foundation to talented and deserving young people with the most to gain from Rugby School, and whose families could not otherwise consider a boarding school education.
Many members of the Rugby School community ask how they can get involved in reaching our vision of having 40 Arnold Foundation students on the School roll in perpetuity. This has led to our creation of the 1567 Society, named after the year of the School’s founding by Lawrence Sheriff, grocer to Elizabeth 1, whose legacy was intended “to serve chiefly for the children of Rugby and Brownsover... and next for such as be of other places hereunto adjoyneing (sic).”
When you join the 1567 Society you may opt to donate, on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, £15.67, or £156.70, or £1567, or as much as you wish. You do not have to be a big donor to make a big difference.
A £15.67 monthly donation would accrue £940.20 over five years. If one includes Gift Aid, this figure would rise to £1,175.25.
Any contribution is gratefully received. With many small steps we can go a long way.
Membership of the 1567 Society means joining other members of our Rugby School community who are acting together to widen access to a Rugby School education, ensuring that the boarding experience is available to talented students.
For information on the impact of your donation please read our Arnold Foundation Review.
The Arnold Foundation is funded entirely through voluntary donations and we rely on the generosity of our community to ensure that the Foundation can continue to support this successful Rugby School programme. With your gift, more children will benefit from a Rugby School education.
We are so proud of our Arnold Foundation students; from studying at top universities, embarking on substantial careers and for improving the lives of those around them.
