'Chorister Experience Day' at Bilton Grange

On Saturday 11 November, Bilton Grange welcomed 22 children to join their current Choristers for ‘Chorister Experience Day’. It was an action-packed day with singing, rehearsals, art workshops, instrumental demonstrations and delicious food! The day closed with a visit to Rugby School Chapel where over 50 children joined professional adult singers in singing evensong. They even got to sing the theme tune from The Vicar of Dibley!

Monday was a very special day for the Rugby Choristers at Bilton Grange as it marked their first public performance outside of Bilton Grange and Rugby School. They had the pleasure of singing at Merton College, Oxford, and to join with the Girls of Merton College Choir and sang evensong in their beautiful chapel. They were directed by the legendary Dr Barry Rose, former choirmaster at St Paul's Cathedral who conducted the music for Charles and Diana's wedding in 1981. The Choristers also got to sit at ‘Tolkien’s Table’, which is said to be where JRR Tolkien wrote Lord of the Rings!
