Giving Day Milestone Celebrated with Staff Pantomime

Last week, Bilton Grange hosted a much-anticipated staff pantomime, Snow White and the Several Dwarves. Staged as a result of last year’s Giving Day milestone, the performance brought together 38 staff members in a thoroughly entertaining production.

Directed by Ben Mason—who had never attended a pantomime prior to this venture—the production came together in remarkable fashion with only one full rehearsal before the opening night. The result was a witty and lively performance that captured the essence of traditional pantomime, complete with eccentric characters, sharp humour, and unexpected surprises.

Fran Goodwin delivered a perfect Snow White, while Kim Thompson commanded the stage as the wicked Queen. Kelly Raymont-Osmond impressed the audience with her vocal talents as the King, and Cameron McIntyre earned well-deserved applause as the first Dame. Kirsten Gray and Lucy Lane had the audience laughing out loud as the bumbling duo Fester and Boyle.

Memorable moments abounded, from the squirrels reading lines off oversized "nuts" to the unexpected arrival of an excitable dinosaur—courtesy of Mr Green.

Reflecting on the production, Head Gareth Jones remarked, “It is good that we, as staff, are sometimes out of our comfort zone, just like the children. It is good to be reminded of that feeling the children get before they have to perform on stage, or play in a match or speak up in class. And it is good for the children to see their teachers in a different light, putting on a show for them!”

The pantomime proved to be a wonderful celebration of creativity and teamwork. Bravo to all who made it possible!
