The BAFTA Television Awards, hosted by Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, take place on Sunday 14 May. The BAFTA Television Craft Awards took place on Sunday 23 April, where the Entertainment Craft Team award was won by Strictly Come Dancing Team Catherine Land, David Bishop, Patrick Doherty, Richard Sillitto, Joe Phillips and Biltonian David Newton.
After leaving Bilton Grange, David studied at Goldsmiths College London, where he was nominated for a student Royal Television Society Award. He developed a successful freelance career specialising as a projection designer working on some of the world's biggest shows in theatre and television; most notably Lord of the Rings (London), Dirty Dancing (Hamburg), X Factor and Dancing on Ice. In 2009, he founded Potion Pictures, which has grown to be a market leader for designing broadcast and performance graphics. David designed the logo for the modern revival of Love Island, the floor graphics and title sequence for the 2018 version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire as well as overseeing countless creative projects at Potion Pictures. He has received three Knight of Illumination 'swords' for his work on the Voice UK and Strictly Come Dancing, and has been nominated three times for a BAFTA as part of the Entertainment Craft Team on Strictly Come Dancing.
It's fair to say the Biltonian community is hugely proud of David's many many achievements.
