Bilton Grange Cyclists and Swimmers Complete BG150 Triathlon in Support of the Earle Fund

Bilton Grange's 150th anniversary celebrations concluded on a high note this afternoon with the final leg of the BG150 Triathlon at Draycote Water. Pupils, parents, and staff came together for the cycling challenge, completing a remarkable total distance of 1058km, all in support of the Earle Fund.

An impressive 72 participants, including 42 students and 30 parents and staff, took part in the event, each striving to cover as many kilometres as possible. Special recognition goes to current pupils Chris and Sophie, who completed the full 50km, alongside four parents — Jon Gray, Peter Jones, Xiaolu Zheng, and Andrew Siggers — who matched their achievement. Additionally, three teams — Gregory, Coulthard, and Newton — also completed 50km each.

This event marked the culmination of the triathlon, following the swimming stage that took place in June. During the penultimate week of the school year, students from the 4th, 5th, and 6th Form participated in a continuous relay over three 1-hour swimming sessions. The goal was to swim a collective 50km in the pool, with students swimming one length at a time before walking back to the start and swimming again. The event presented a logistical challenge, with counters at both ends of the pool, but the children embraced it with enthusiasm. The atmosphere was vibrant, enhanced by music and a strong sense of teamwork as pupils supported one another to reach the target.

Thank you to all who have made the BG150 Triathlon such a success. For those who would like to support this impressive achievement, sponsorship is still available through the JustGiving link here.
