Rugby School Bicentenary Ball

Roland Ellis (St 61-65) with a ball signed by the All Blacks team to be auctioned for charity.

I was very grateful to have received a Bientenary Ball for putting Pass the Ball short video clips together of three Rugby teams in Dannevirke, New Zealand.

Recently, I attended the last public training run for the All Blacks at McLean Park, Napier before they take go to the World Cup in Japan. I was able to get many of the team to sign it, and it will be auctioned in the near future to provide funding for farmers on the East Coast of the North Island. Proceeds will be used for the much required fencing materials in areas devastated by the Cyclone in February. As the former Mayor of Tararua 2010 - 2016 and a local farmer for many years, I feel it is such a worthy cause and would like to thank Rugby School for this opportunity. My great uncle Andrew MacKinnon was a in the 1st XV - Cap No 450 in 1890 with Scotland caps 1898/99/1900, and myself in the 1st XV - Cap No 1250 in 1965.
