Nicholas Bacon (SF 77-81) elected as new Chair of Governors

We are delighted to announce that Nicholas Bacon (SF 77-81) has been elected as the new Chair of Governors for the Rugby School Group. Nicholas' appointment follows an extensive search which yielded a very strong field and a rigorous process of selection.

A proud Rugbeian, Nicholas has served as a governor since 2020, bringing valuable insight and dedication to his role. He also sits on the board for the Arnold Foundation and the governing bodies of Rugby School Thailand and Rugby School Japan. Although not an Old Biltonian himself, the names of Bacon family members sit proudly on the boards in the Gallery of Bilton Grange.

Nick is an accomplished accountant and former partner of EY (Ernst & Young LLP). He succeeds Barry O’Brien, who has been a dedicated governor since 2012 and served as Chair of Governors since 2020, and has also chaired the Arnold Foundation.

On behalf of all those associated with the school, we thank Barry for his leadership as Chair and for the many hours that he has given to Rugby over the years. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement, whilst we warmly welcome Nicholas Bacon into his new role.
