The Rugbeian Community extends warm congratulations to Oona Lowther (D 14-19) and her string quartet, the Slate Quartet, on the release of their debut EP.
The EP features Brett Dean's String Quartet No. 1, ‘Eclipse’ and is now available on all major streaming platforms. This marks a remarkable milestone for the quartet, who have brought this compelling work to life more than two decades after its original commission. The piece’s narrative depth and emotional resonance remain profoundly relevant to today’s political landscape, making this recording especially poignant.
Oona, a talented cellist, is currently in her sixth year at the Royal Academy of Music, having been a Music Scholar during her time at Rugby.
Don’t miss the chance to experience the Slate Quartet’s powerful interpretation of this striking composition. Listen to the EP here.
