On 10 September 2025, Jeremy Maddocks (Sh 79-84), President of the Rugbeian Society, met with Adam Hackett (Past President of OR Society 2000), Mark Simms OBE, Group CEO of P3 Charity, and Eamonn O’Keeffe, Director of Youth Services, to explore ways the Society could support the Rugby Portobello Trust.
The meeting marked a milestone: the decision to integrate the Trust into the Rugbeian Society’s Internship Programme. Reflecting on his visit, Jeremy Maddocks praised the enthusiasm of volunteers and children, describing the Trust as “a lifeline for many” with its homework club, sports, and safe, caring environment.
Through this partnership, young Rugbeians will gain valuable experience in leadership, communication, and teamwork while contributing to a cause that reflects Rugby School’s ethos of service and community. By welcoming interns, the Trust will benefit from fresh perspectives and support in continuing its vital work with young people in North Kensington.
With the backing of the Rugbeian Society and its network of alumni, the Trust will continue to help young people reach their potential. Together, the two organisations are carrying forward Rugby School’s ethos of service and building a stronger, more connected future.
