Congratulations to Rugbeian Jacob Bethell (W 17–22) on his maiden Test century for England.
Born in Barbados, Jacob arrived at Rugby School at the age of 12 on a cricket scholarship and spent five formative years at the School under the mentorship of former Warwickshire captain Michael Powell.
Speaking on BBC Radio One following the event, Michael described Jacob as “a sponge” to teach and a phenomenal young talent - always the first to arrive at practice and the last to leave.
A huge achievement for Jacob and a proud moment for Rugby School.
