Rugby School’s Design Scholars have been invited to create a commemorative piece to mark fifty years since girls first joined the School. As part of their research they met Jill Rogers (St, Cr 75-77), one of the first three girls to arrive in 1975.

Jill spoke with students about those early years and the challenges of being among the pioneers. She helped the Scholars to think carefully about how to mark this milestone in a way that is honest and thoughtful, and to reflect how far the School has come since.

Students will now develop individual concepts, with one design selected to become the final commemorative piece for the anniversary. We look forward to sharing their ideas.
