Rugby School and Bilton Grange's fantastic grounds team respectively won GOLD in the ‘Rugby in Bloom 2023' awards where Paul Thornton, Head Gardener was presented with certificates at the Benn Hall on Wednesday 13 September.
Each year the schools play an important part in representing Rugby School as a part of the ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition. This is about encouraging communities to work alongside the Borough Council to promote civic pride in the appearance of the town primarily through a high standard of maintenance, engagement and sustainability in our green spaces.
Each year the Judges visit the town looking at the various green spaces and community projects in the locality. As a part of the tour we host the judges for around half an hour showcasing some of our gardens and grounds which they always enjoy and again it gives us an opportunity to be at the centre of our Town and a part of the local community. Rugby Town always fairs well in this regional and national competition and we’d like to think the School plays a significant part in this success.
