Rugbeian Society Member, Antone Sabbaghe, wins first place

A member of the Rugby School estates team, Antone, has triumphed in the local Rugby in Bloom 2023 Awards for best Medium & Large Garden catagory at his home in Rugby.

Antone has worked at the School for 32 years and takes enormous pride in his diverse and well kept garden which embraces wildlife.

For 2023, Rugby in Bloom celebrated the bicentenary of the birth Rugby football, the 200th anniversary of William Webb Ellis picking up the ball and running with it during a game of football at Rugby School, wanting the birthplace of the game to bloom for the bicentenary, with special prizes on offer for floral displays inspired by the sport.

We are delighted that, in October 2023, Rugby in Bloom were once again awarded gold at the Heart of England in Bloom awards.

Thanks to the hard work of Antone and all the other local entrants.
