| Rugbeian Community of North America |
To strengthen our international ties and engage with the growing global community, Head Master, Gareth Parker-Jones, recently hosted a drinks reception in New York and breakfast in Washington D.C. for our North American Rugbeian Community.
Open to former students and parents and also our current Rugbeian community, Gareth reconnected with those present with a celebration of the enduring Rugby Spirit.
During his address at both events, Gareth shared updates on the School's strategic developments including academic advancements, school mergers and the ongoing success of the Rugby School Group’s international campuses. The student involvement in the Stan-X project was also discussed. Brand new for 2025, Rugby School joined Stan-X; a unique, pioneering study investigating genetics that provides our LXX students with the opportunity to work collaboratively with scientists at Stanford University, USA, in exploring potential cures for diseases such as pancreatic cancer.
Discussions also touched upon The Arnold Foundation, emphasising the School's mission to provide life-changing bursaries to talented students in need of a boarding education. The importance of the "Whole Person, Whole Point" philosophy remains the hallmark of a Rugby education. By meeting with alumni, the School reinforced the idea that the spirit of Rugby transcends geographical boundaries. These international visits ensure that even those thousands of miles away from the school gates remain integral participants in our ongoing narrative.
While Rugby is famously the birthplace of the game that bears its name, its modern identity is rooted in being a global educational leader.
"Our visits to New York and Washington are not merely about looking back at our history," the Head Master noted. "They are about looking forward. By engaging with our community here, we ensure that the values of Rugby School - resilience, curiosity, and kindness - continue to resonate internationally."
