Rugbeians Victor Riley (B 50-53) and Tim Booth (B 51–55) share a passion for Riley cars and have enjoyed reminiscing about the old car scene and their roles within The Riley Motor Club. Tim shares:

'In 1938 when the Riley Car Company was sold to Lord Nuffield’s Morris Motors, Victor Riley’s father was the Chairman. My interest in Rileys began because my father was a keen Riley man before the war (he went onto Jaguars after the war), but still kept a pre-war Riley, which he handed over to me to look after. Victor has been President of The Riley Motor Club, founded in 1925, for many years and for my sins I have been the Club’s Chairman for a few years.'

The Riley Motor Club is one of the oldest one-make car clubs and is the original Riley Club for owners and enthusiasts of the Riley marque. It caters for all ages of Rileys, from the first car of 1898 through pre-war and RM models to the BMC Rileys of the late 1960s.

The Club hopes to preserve and enjoy Riley cars of all ages, unite Riley enthusiasts worldwide, and to ensure that future generations share their enthusiasm for the Riley marque.

If anyone within the Rugbeian network is interested in getting involved with The Riley Motor Club, then please get in touch with Tim Booth and he'd be delighted to help.
