On Thursday 23 October, Rugbeians gathered to remember Mark Carr (C 77–82), who sadly passed away five years ago.

Over 35 Rugbeians met at The Phene in Chelsea for dinner - an evening to reconnect with old friends and to hear about the initiatives established in Mark’s name.

During his time at Rugby, Mark embraced the sporting opportunities available, valuing not only the competition and fitness but also the lifelong friendships made on and off the field. Originally from Leicester, Mark’s legacy continues there, with funds raised in his honour being donated to Greenhouse Sports in Leicester.

Greenhouse Sports works with children from disadvantaged backgrounds, placing dedicated sports coaches in schools to help pupils develop skills, confidence, and resilience through sport. The impact of this work is truly life-changing.
