Robin Russell-Jones (C 61-65) prepares for climate change interview at St George's House

At 7PM on 25 April, Robin Russell-Jones (C 61-65) is being interviewed by Gary McKeone, Programme Director at St George's House, Windsor Castle about climate change and related environmental issues. The Conversation will be posted on the St George's House Website the following day for anyone that is interested in reading the interview.

Robin Russell-Jones is a medical doctor with a twin career. First, as a qualified physician practicing dermatology and dermato-pathology, and second as an environmental activist. He was Director of the Skin Tumour Unit at the Institute of Dermatology in London until he retired in 2008, and he has over 200 peer reviewed publications in the medical literature.

Robin has an abiding interest in environmental pollution and the way it impinges on public health. His activities have influenced several key areas of environmental policy in the UK, including the decision to ban lead in petrol, introduce catalytic converters in petrol driven vehicles, and change official guidelines on exposure to ionising radiation. His letters and articles have raised awareness of ozone depletion and global warming.

When at Rugby School, Robin's ambition was to play the minute waltz in 59 seconds and his teacher used to call him the 'Roger Bannister of the key-board.'
