Training hots up for 1,000 mile charity bike ride taking in three key rugby landmarks

Cyclists from across the Rugbeian Community are in the final stages of their training for the 1,000 mile cycle ride raising money for the 1823 Bursary Fund and the Matt Hampson Foundation.   Staff, parents, old Rugbeians and other keen cyclists will be leaving The Close early morning on the 2nd July, coming into Twickenham later that day, with a core team of 17 cyclists continuing on to France for the 6 day journey down to the grave of William Webb Ellis.

Old Rugbeian and Paralympian Sam Ruddock together with former England rugby international Dan Hipkiss will be joining the team on the first leg to Twickenham, and we caught up with Dan to learn more about the Get Busy Living Centre in Leicestershire run by the Matt Hampson Foundation – see more here.

If you’d like to contribute to the fundraising campaign, the justgiving link is here. Find out below how you can join us at Twickenham to welcome in the cyclists on Day One.
