The Pringle team displayed an inspiring level of morale this year, from the initial stretcher race down to the final Drill inspection. For a few LXX this was their first Pringle and undoubtedly, not be their last. They showed high professionalism amidst one of the more intense stances, MUC. The team showed an excellent desire to learn even with time against them. For 3 of the 9, this was their first time handling the L98 A2 rifle (based on the british Army's SA80) and managed to progress from their very first time seeing the rifle to passing their weapons handling test in just under half an hour, an incredible feat.
Time on the Sunday not spent singing in the showers or submerged for slightly too long in the sheep dip was dedicated to first learning, then grooving drill which again the cadets proved unwavering in their determination, scoring 92/100 in the stance, an 11-point PB on last year's drill. Taunton once again took home the Commando Dagger and RM Tankards with Sherborne close on their tail, next year however I’m sure we will not make it so easy. Overall, the competition as always was a great exercise in willpower, selflessness and cheerfulness in the face of adversity. On to the next.
