Crescent House Transformed for Southfield's XX

The Rugby Estates team has been busy over the summer holidays, preparing Crescent House to welcome Southfield's XX students this September. Many Rugbeians will remember Crescent House as the Sixth Form bar and later as a COVID-19 isolation facility. After being vacant for several years, the building has undergone a significant transformation.

The refurbishment began over the Easter holidays with the aim of creating a welcoming and functional space for 26 new Sixth Form students entering Southfield.

Beautiful wooden floors have been installed, and all of the windows have been replaced, ensuring the large rooms are filled with natural light. The house has been redecorated throughout. Communal areas, including a spacious common room and a study area equipped with a coffee machine, have been designed to simulate a university-style living environment while maintaining a relaxing and homely atmosphere. Upstairs, new study rooms have been decorated and furnished with brand-new desks, wardrobes, and sinks. Each room will accommodate between 8 to 10 students, providing them with individual workstations and storage. The toilets and showers have also been redecorated.

The walls of Crescent House have already been adorned with beautiful artwork created by the girls. Comfortable sofas and other homely touches are being added this week in time to welcome the girls back.

We wish the girls the very best of luck as they start their new term at Rugby School!
